About Us

The Venezuelan American Association of the United States, Inc. (VAAUS) is a private, non-profit business organization founded in 1936 to promote investment and commerce between the United States and Venezuela. VAAUS sponsors programs held in New York City. At these meetings, members and their guests receive vital information about current Venezuelan economic and political events from top-level speakers such as private sector leaders, government officials, and heads of state, and have the opportunity to engage in dialogue with them and with each other.

VAAUS was the first chamber established in the U.S. for Venezuela, and this dynamic organization has hosted hundreds of programs over the years. We have no formal connections with any governments and do not receive any government funding. Independently we provide a forum for a variety of opinions and for dialogue leading toward the goal of better business and cultural relations between our nations.

VAAUS aims to:

  • Promote better acquaintance and understanding among business people of the United States and Venezuela
  • Encourage and facilitate the interchange of investment and trade between the two nations
  • Foster, protect, and promote the tradition of friendship and goodwill existing between the two countries since their birth as free nations.
